Jeff,

Thanks. I am meeting together with my worship leader to discuss similar opportunities in Hubert. We are planning our spring and summer activities. Our plan is to move into the community.

Have you heard from the others about a huddle? I would like to huddle with a group of like minded pastors. I prefer face to face huddle over skyping. Just my preference but I will do what is best for the group.

Thanks for your hard work.

Judy, thanks for your authenticity in sharing this. I'm sorry I couldn't or wouldn't embrace this model at that time. I do believe the cultural realities will force the issue in every church much like doing "contemporary" worship did. That's a slow process, though.

I would recommend having this conversation with Danny, if you haven't already. Then be a catalyst again for creating it there. If that's just not feasible, I will try to locate a nearby missional community. I will say that we are starting one in Jacksonville. Peter Singletary is leading that ministry called Epic. I can get you more info. You can also link to it in the right-hand column on this page.

Now you know why I left New Song. I didn't want to be a consumer any more. I grew during my time there because of the prayer team and the deep desire that gripped my heart for more. I haven't found it yet, but I am still searching and I am trying to live Jesus every day. Thank you for affirming what I have been feeling. I long for a community of believers who are willing to lay down their lives for their faith; to live it face to face day in and day out. My whole family longs for connection with a body of discipling believers. Thanks again for the affirmation--any idea where I can find this community?

In a presentation I made yesterday I was challenged with a question in how I do what I do at Solid Rock. It is an anxious existence that I have learned to accept and live into as a Disciple of Jesus Christ. i cannot focus on the anxiety and how overwhelming it is to be faced with living into this calling in a new church plant. I know that Jesus would not ask me to do anything if He has not already equipped me to accomplish that which I am called to do.

So I realize that I am on a journey. My journey is a place where I learn. It is a journey that I find that I am not alone. It is a journey that demands my complete surrender. Otherwise I would be anxious and miserable. Instead I am excited with anticipation in how God will accomplish the next miracle. My longing is to be so on the road in this journey that I become a part of God's work in accomplishing this miracle.

This new move of discipleship is really not new at all. It is the old way that Christ did things. It is the old way of Wesley's move across the contintents. It is the now way of what God is doing in our lives so that we all come to a life that is lost in Christ.
